Can't you see your NFT in MetaMask? Don't panic, you haven't lost it. MetaMask does not automatically display NFTs, you'll have to add them manually.
Learn more about NFTs in the article about Non Fungible Tokens.
In addition, you must keep one thing in mind: You can only view NFTs in the MetaMask mobile app. This option is not available in the web browser extension.
Once you have installed MetaMask on your mobile device, you can view your NFTs by following these steps:
- First, make sure you are on the blockchain where you have your NFT. You can verify this at the top of MetaMask.
- In the app, click on the NFT tab.
- Click on "Add NFT".
- Enter the contract address in the "Address" box.
- Enter the ID of your NFT in the "Id." box.
- Click on "Add".
How to find the contract address and ID of an NFT
If you don't have the contract address and ID of your NFT, you can check it on a blockchain explorer of the network you are on. For example, one of the most commonly used for Ethereum is etherscan.io. But you can find one by searching on Google for the term "explorer" followed by the name of the blockchain you are on.
Once on the token explorer, follow these steps:
- Copy the address of your MetaMask and paste it into the explorer's search bar.
- Look for the NFT tab in the explorer. On etherscan, it's labeled as "NFT Transfers," but on other explorers, you can find them with terms like "ERC-721 Tokens" or "ERC-1555 Tokens", which are Ethereum's NFT standards. These terms may vary depending on the blockchain you are on.
- Find the NFT you want to view and click on it. The contract is usually located in a column called "Token" or "Item".
- On the next screen, you can copy the contract of the NFT and its ID.

How to transfer an NFT from OpenSea
At this point it is worth noting one thing. MetaMask is a tool that, among other things, allows you to see what you have at an address by consulting the corresponding blockchain.
OpenSea is practically the same: It only displays what you have at your address on a blockchain. Therefore, to transfer an NFT from OpenSea all you have to do is load your NFT on MetaMask and transfer them as we have shown you before.
However, OpenSea also allows you to transfer your NFTs from its interface. We show you how in the following steps:
- Connect your wallet to OpenSea. To do this, you just have to go to opensea.io and click on the wallet icon located in the upper right corner.
- Access your NFTs. You can do this through your profile or in the "My Items" section.
- Select the NFT you want to send.
- Click on the paper airplane icon in the upper right corner. You will find yourself in the NFT viewing window, where you can sell it, auction it, or view its information. As we mentioned, you can also transfer it by clicking on the icon we indicate, just below the "Sell" button.
- Enter the destination address and click the "Transfer" button. Verify several times that the destination address is correct.
- Check that the destination address has received the NFT. Remember that NFT transactions can take several minutes to an hour depending on network congestion.
Remember that to perform any transaction you will need a small amount of cryptocurrency to pay for gas or fees.
